Hush Puppies warehouse sale is here again!! It will be on sale from 27 May to 7 June 2009 from 10am to 7pm.. I went to the warehouse house sale yesterday evening.. Their warehouse sale is nearby my house only.. Its very very addictive.. I really cannot spent too much time there or else i will be broke.. i just went there for 1 hour and i bought 4 clothes.. Actually i was planning to buy 5.. it cost about RM100++!!! =.=.. Most of the blouse i buy is for my college wear.. 3 of the blouse are 3/4 sleeve.. Its because my college is so cold.. I'm freezing in the room everyday..

The stick in my wardrobe is broken!! It must be because i have to much clothes hanging on it.. now all my clothes are messily stuffed in the wardrobe and it is slowly going to turn into a clothes avalanche.. I don even dare to open it now or else.. the clothes will start falling out all over me...
haha..

YEAH!! Last few months i have applied for the ASEAN scholarship to study in Singapore.. And yesterday i saw a mail sent by the Singapore education department saying tat i get selected for their selection test.. I heard tat their test is very difficult.. My test will be held in Sunway Pyramid on the 6 and 7 of June.. I need to take 3 types of test.. English, Mathematics and General Ability.. So nervous.. I wondered how the test will be and wat they ask in such a long time.. The English and Mathematics papers will be 3 hours and the General Ability will be 4 hours.. I heard tat they say General Ability is like a IQ test.. I already have 2 cousin get the ASEAN scholarships and they r studing there now.. Hopefully i can pass the test and get selected for the interview.. ^o^ haha..

Today is biology lab class.. today experiment is about semi permeable membrane and osmosis.. I never thought tat a visking tubing is just a plastic bag but many tiny invicible holes.. which i can just see it as a plastic bag.. =_=" I really hate to write a lab report.. cause i don know how to write ar.. haih.. the lecturer always ' vanished' whever we are doing the experiment.. I cant even ask him a question..He can suddenly appeared and suddenly disappeared.. Today we deal with the sucrose solution.. and the sucrose solution seems to be spilling everywhere.. even my ruler is sticky with the solution.. I sure the ants would love it..

I really love the Malaysia Studies class.. It is so interesting and fun.. Yesterday, my lecturer wants us to organise some performance for the up coming English week.. and my frens have decided to do a cultural wedding ceromonies which includes malay, chinese, indian, and christian weeding.. And guess wat? I will be playing the role of brides maid for the malay wedding and act as a parent for the indian wedding.. It is going to be very interesting.. We r so excited about it.. The english week will be on 26 of June.. Our class is also going to visit the Parliament during 30 of June.. We will get to see our politicans debating on the importnt issues.. This will be my first time visiting the Parliament.. and we all must wear a formal attire.. like an office girl.. haha.. ^_^

Today i went to my first STACT club meeting.. It is called Student Action club and it is a charity-based club.. The first meeting is quite fun.. At first we have an ice breaking games.. then lucky draw.. I never get a lucky draw prize before.. and guess wat?? today i get a prize!! I get an electronic lady shaver.. I assumed it must be expensive cause it is an electronic gadget.. haha.. Anyway, i'm still so excited about it.. and my lucky number is 4!! and our club is organising a charity drive which sounds like a fun fair to me.. because it will be having lots of games, food fair, tournaments throughout that one week in Week 9.. of course, we must participate to help out during the event.. It sound interesting and i cant wait for the charity drive event!!

See? It just like a plactic tube bag only.. but it s very soft..

I got Biology test on tuesday and it was hard.. we all dunno how the test will like as it was our first test.. And i manage to get 67.5%.. i guess it was all right cause only a few eople manage to get 60 something.. The paper consists of 40 objective questions and 3 Subjective questions.. i manage to get an A for my objective part.. but i did pretty bad for my subjective part which is 21/37.. I dun even know how to write once i see the questions.. Anyway, it was my first time doing the test.. hopefully i will able to do better next time.. ^-^

Next tuesday i will have another test which is math test.. But this is not a actual test, it just a test to identify our weaknesses.. My actual math test and chemistry test will be on week 6.. 2 more weeks to go.. Gambate!!

Time sure flys when i start going to college.. next week will be my fourth week since the first day of my college.. Everyday is a busy day.. although for now i don have much assignment to do.. I only have 2 assignments for my Malaysian Studies.. It is about ISA and our sixth Agong.. I cant find much information for the Agong.. He died so long ago and even before i was born.. How i'm supposed to find the source about him when last time the technology wasnt so advance.. T_T The ISA part was interesting.. But we need to interview prominent politician which is another difficult part.. We still cant find anyone for us to interview.. Hopefully can interview Teresa Kok.. Hehe.. It would be interesting.. My group presentation for the Agong part will be the coming Thursday.. So nervous.. Hopefully it will go well.. ^_^

Last week i have been very busy for my college and the scholarship stuffs.. Today finally the test for my biology is over.. Its so hard.. i don even know how to do it.. and the lecturer some more say if din get 70% above then the scholarship will be terminate!! WHAT?!! This is the first time we test and it's really different from school.. during my test, we just sit together and our biology books are on the desk .. Yet, no one will peek into their books although we all dunno how to do... We r so honest..

Last week i'm so busy for my JPA scholarship.. Haih.. i din get the scholarship.. All my friends also din get but only one of my friends get the scholarship.. Wow.. So have to do the appeal letter and stuffs..

Wat i love about studying a level is we get to do the experiment and have to wear lab coat while doing it.. I have done my first experiment for my Biology and Chemistry.. It's a simple experiment for the biology.. We just do experiment on how to use the microscope and how to calculate the magnification while looking at the cells.. I get to see a Paramecium cells which is so cute and a type of plant cell..The hardest part for Lab class is writing a report.. I don even know how or what to write.. The lecturer din even at least brief us how to write.. The chemistry's experiment is the most interesting.. We get to do neutralization acid-alkali.. we will do our own experiment and set up ourselves.. We get to see the changes of colour whenever its neutralized..
So cool..

I found this article from the Yahoo!Health and it is very interesting because it tells us about what food is best and worst for brain.. And guess what... All the food it says tat is bad for health are my favourite food.. I never know pancake is bad too.. I like pancake so much.. and goodbye to ice cream and soda.. Although i don drink much of soda.. but i still like it... I din know tat coffee can help in short term memory.. No wonder mostly old people like to drink it..

FOR SHORT-TERM MEMORY
Drink This!: COFFEE
Fresh-brewed joe is the ultimate brain fuel. Caffeine has been shown to retard the aging process and enhance short-term memory performance. In one study, British researchers found that just one cup of coffee helps improve attention and problem-solving skills.

Not That!: ENERGY DRINKS/TOO MUCH COFFEE
Ever heard of the concept “too much of a good thing”? If you OD on caffeine—too many cups, a jolt of caf from the late afternoon onward, a Red Bull cocktail—it can mess with your shuteye schedule. Sleep is reboot time for your mental computer, and you don’t want to mess with it.

FOR LONG-TERM MEMORY
Eat This!: BLUEBERRIES
Antioxidants in blueberries help protect the brain from free-radical damage and cut your risk of Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases. They can also improve cognitive processing (translation: thinking). Wild blueberries, if you can find them, have even more brain-boosting antioxidants than the cultivated variety, so book that vacation in Maine now. The berries will ripen in July.

Not That!: THE UNRIPE AND UNREADY
Here’s a cool tip: if your favorite berries are out of season, buy them frozen. The freezer locks in peak flavor and nutrients, so the berries’ antioxidant capacity is maxed out. Those pale, tough, and expensive off-season berries usually ripen on a truck, rather than on the bush, so they’re nutritional imposters compared to the real thing.

TO THINK FASTER
Eat This!: SALMON OR MACKEREL
If the Internal Revenue Service picks you for some up-close-and-personal auditing, you’ll want to be on your toes when they vet your deductions list. So put salmon or mackerel on the grocery list. The omega-3 fatty acids found in fatty fishes are a primary building block of brain tissue, so they’ll amp up your thinking power. Salmon is also rich in niacin, which can help ward off Alzheimer’s disease and slow the rate of cognitive decline.

Not That!: FULL-FAT ICE CREAM
Not all fats are created equal: Beware foods high in saturated fats, which can clog blood vessels and prevent the flow of nutrients and blood to the brain. Ice cream is not a brain-health food.

TO ENERGIZE:
Eat This!: HIGH-PROTEIN SALAD WITH VINAIGRETTE
The oil in the dressing will help slow down digestion of protein and carbs in the salad, stabilizing blood-sugar levels and keeping energy levels high. Build your salad on a bed of romaine and spinach for an added boost in riboflavin, and add chicken and a hard-boiled egg for more energizing protein.

Not That!: PANCAKES OR BAGELS
MIT researchers analyzed blood samples from a group of people who had eaten either a high-protein or a high-carbohydrate breakfast. Two hours after eating, the carb eaters had tryptophan levels four times higher than those of the people who had eaten protein. The tryptophan in turkey is one of the reasons you crawl off for an afternoon nap after Thanksgiving dinner. So watch what you gobble.

TO CALM DOWN
Eat This!: LOW-FAT YOGURT OR MIXED NUTS
Scientists in Slovakia gave people 3 grams each of two amino acids—lysine and arginine—or a placebo, and asked them to deliver a speech. Blood measurements of stress hormones revealed that the amino acid-fortified guys were half as anxious during and after the speech as those who took the placebo. Yogurt is one of the best food sources of lysine; nuts pack loads of arginine.

Not That!: SODA
A study from the American Journal of Public Health found that people who drink 2½ cans of soda daily are three times more likely to be depressed and anxious, compared with those who drink fewer. So Mountain Dew is a Mental Don’t.

TO CONCENTRATE
Eat This!: PEPPERMINT TEA

The scent of peppermint helps you focus and boosts performance, according to researchers. Need to reach Chicago before nightfall, and you’re stuck in traffic around Cleveland? One study found that peppermint makes drivers more alert and less anxious.

Not That!: CANDY
Sugary foods incite sudden surges of glucose that, in the long term, cause sugar highs and lows, leading to a fuzzy state of mind.

FOR GOOD MOODS AND GRINS
Eat This! ARUGULA OR SPINACH SALAD
Leafy greens—arugula, chard, spinach—are rich sources of B vitamins, which are key components on the assembly line that manufactures feel-good hormones such as serotonin, dopamine, and norepinephrine. According to a study published in the Journal of Neuroscience Nursing, a lack of B6 can cause nervousness, irritability, and even depression.

Not That!: WHITE CHOCOLATE
White chocolate isn’t chocolate at all, since it contains no cocoa solids. So it won’t stimulate the euphoria-inducing mood boosters like serotonin, as real chocolate does. Grab the real thing, the darker the better. More cacao means more happy chemicals and less sugar, which will eventually pull you down.

FOR SHARPER SENSES
Eat This!: 1 TBSP OF GROUND FLAXSEED DAILY
Flax is the best source of alphalinoleic, or ALA—a healthy fat that improves the workings of the cerebral cortex, the area of the brain that processes sensory information, including that of pleasure. To meet your quota, sprinkle it on salads or mix it into a smoothie or shake.

Not That!: ALCOHOL
This one’s obvious, but worth mentioning anyway. A drink or two can increase arousal signals, but more than that will actually depress your nervous system. This makes you sloppy, not sharp.
